Working On A Sunday

Here I am, sitting in the office doing some work. Well, actually, I'm here to backup or help to ease some of the workload.

Oh yeah, did i tell you bout i have to format my pc? Damn Generic Host Process keeps on crashing on me whenever i go online. Found out the reason for that thing to crash is because of some HP printer driver but then i don't have any hp products in my pc.

As i'm cursing the whole day, i have to reformat my pc and now i have to REINSTALL everything i have installed previously. DAMN YOU HP!!!

CNY or not?

Chinese New Year is around the corner!!! A week or more and it's the new lunar year for us Chinese. Gong Xi Gong Xi!!!

Heck, do i have to be happy about it? Yeah yeah, people might say, "Hey, it's chinese new year. A new year for you to start a whole new life" or even "You can earn some ang pow money leh..." Whatever~ Yes, i'm happy that the fact i can earn some green papers but does it have any significant thing that you can be happy about?

It might only be aesthetic. For me, the days counting down to Chinese new year are the best. When it's pass the first two days of CNY, it gets dull for me. I'm not complaining or anything but isn't it interesting to ponder what people think or perceive about Chinese New Year.

Another nice thing that I like about CNY is that we, as a family as whole, can get together and have nice meals with each other. But "some" in my family doesn't even bother about joining The Family for dinners or lunch on the first and second day of CNY. "Busy la", "Wanna earn more income since it's CNY when hordes of people are goin out", etc.

Fucking lame man!!! What kinda fucking reason is that? How many times in a year that the whole Family got together. Some of you even have to be begged or persuaded to join any events. Well, we'll see about it this year. But I wouldn't give much hope on it.

Uso-tsuki

Why can't they be a bit more honest? Telling lies are not good. Have they heard of the phrase; "Honesty is the best policy"? That's why I don't tend to lie to people? But then it does get me into trouble ya know, when I'm too honest at times. Things that should not be spoken are spewed out, etc.

Was planning to go out and get my Chinese New Year clothes but something's come up and I won't be getting it this weekend. *Sigh... how many times do we get 3 days off or more?

I'm still contemplating when to get my favourite toy, my PSP. Yes, i've been reading around about it and it's really really tempting. Eventough, now it's being equipped with a $amsung LCD instead of $harp, I'd still be getting it inspite of the lcd sharpness, clarity and vibrancy are being questioned. Moreover, even Djinn popped into this blog and "poisoning" me to get a PSP fast. hahahaha

Where is the sportsmanship?

Have you ever wonder whether the people you're playin games with have sportsmanship? According to an online dictionary, it means
  1. The fact or practice of participating in sports or a sport.
  2. Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing.
  3. Fairness in following the rules of the game
Well, it happens to affect MMOGs. When you're playing with other people and let's say, the last one standing wins; You know you're losing and what would you do? Take your opponent down along with you? Suicide? Or whatever it takes to make you yourself to die in a happy ending and letting your missed out on a chance to win that match? WHERE is that sportsmanship?!?!

Yeah yeah, you might say to have grace in losing. Yes! To HAVE grace in losing. People won't mind losing a game because it's just a game but the main thing is that when your opponent takes you down with himself when the odds are against them.

Think about it~

What's a chick flick?

1) A movie that does not have any action scenes
2) A movie that does not have any explosion scenes
3) A movie that does not have any car chase scenes
4) A movie that makes you go "Awwww~"
5) A movie that makes you sober
6) And finally, the ultimate chick flick is when your girlfriend ask, "Why you never do that do me?", "How come you're never like that?" etc

I'm beginning to wonder, why no one ever post anything in the tagboard lately... I might need to publicise my blog more aggreesively. Hehehehe

Was busy over the weekend

...as I'm too engrossed over Grand Turismo 4. Yes!! I got a copy of it and it's from the supplier that i wanted to get from. Now, the only thing that i wished for; i mean for now, to compliment my GT4, is a HDTV and a Logitech GT Force Pro a.k.a Logitech Driving Force Pro or the non pro version of it.

This week is a hectic week, imagine 2 birthdays and a wedding dinner to attend to. One was yesterday and then another one on thurdays and the last one will be on friday nite.

Oh yeah, did i mentioned something about being fired because of your blog. Well, I got a list of companies, at least, which was forwarded from my friend that have at least dismissed their employees because of their blog. Here are the list:

13.) the Durham Herald-Sun
14.) Kerr-McGee
15.) ESPN
16.) Apple (according to this blog entry AND this article)

Imagine playing basketball twice in a week when all the while i've not been exercising. Yeah, I'm still tired from all the running and jumping. While waiting for the rest of my gang to arrive, me and another two more of my colleagues played a match with a group of youngsters. I'd say we lose flat out. Bwahahahaha. Can you imagine the difference in gameplay, stamina and experience between someone who plays practically everyday and the ones that play once a week?

About the tsunami crisis that we're having now, there are some people who brought up the issue why the donations that the public made are still not being disbursed to the victims. Some said that the government are waiting for the media to make some coverage of them donating stuffs to the victim; well, you can call them politics and some also said that those people who collects aids, funds for the victims are infact pocketing a sum from the funds for themselves. Makes me wonder whether it's true or not.

A dull sunday indeed

Let me recount what did i do the whole day~...
.
.
.
.
oh yeah, NFS!!! Hahaha. Yes, the whole day. Well, practically the whole day if it's not 24 hours. Been racing trying to unlock my Mazda Rx8 but to no avail. I managed to unlock 4 cars though. *sigh...

My trusty 'ol car has been screaming for a cleanup and so she did get a cleanup. I'd have not wash her if it's not for the sheer anger that i didn't manage to unlock my Rx8.

Half Life 2 Hands-on

Yes!!! I've finally be able to play Half Life 2 properly for the first time since i last played it on my pc which lags and stutters everytime they load the game audio. I must say that i was taken aback from the game's quality since i'm playing on a 2.4Ghz Semprom and a Geforce 6800 GT. Well, I think you can guess how are the qualities.

Too bad, that it's been almost a year since i last played any first person shooter, i felt nausea after 2 hours of gameplay. And my right arm are sore holding the mouse without proper arm rest. Hehehe.

Well, since our "localized" version of GT4 has arrived, i'm might go get it tonite itself. Yes, it's in chinese though i was hoping for the jap version. Whether i'm going or not will depend on whoever's following me.

Out~~

Gran Turismo 4 Out!!!

Finally, after a 2-3 years haitus, Polyphony Digital has released yet another game that manages to unlock the holy grail of our beloved and treasured Playstation 2; Gran Turismo 4.

A real life driving simulation that will be the drive of your life as they claimed it to be. With around 650 cars to choose from and apart from the A-Spec mode, there's an additional mode included; B-Spec. In B-spec, you get to play as a manager of racing team, making all kinds of decisions in terms of car racing. Be it how much fuel being pumped in, tyre types, racing aggression, etc. Sadly, our local car doesn't make it into the 650 cars. Sad indeed.

Well, the jap release is out but not the english version which we have to wait till march. Guess i'll be getting the Jap version and play it first since there's a site that did a translation on all menus for non jap readers like me

Below are some of the screenies which are WYSIWYG using a Component cable and a HDTV

Now this is the car that i wanted to get if i can afford it. Mazda 3 or known as Mazda Axela. It's gonna reach our shore next year.

It's all over

Yeap..it's all over. Appraisal has been done yesterday nite. Private and Confidential.

Well, today's New Year Eve and yet most of us are mourning for those 118k+ ppl who died in those tsunami hit countries. Well, we have to be grateful for the disaster that hit our country did not claim a lot of lives. Still sub 100 head count.

I got a url that links me to the New York Times and whoa, they did a pretty good job on keep ing the lastet event updated to the public eyes and ears. They even have a simulation of how the tsunami developed and the wave pattern.
